First trailer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan teases with hint of SRK-Katrina liplock

The trailer of Yash Chopra’s new film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ), was released online on Thursday, immediately sparking immense buzz on the Internet.

The near-three minute promo, though devoid of the trademark YRF shot of the heroine in chiffon, does hold another tantalising promise. A split-second highlight scene has Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif almost brushing lips. The shot is quickly cut, teasing viewers and leaving them to guess if the two actually pucker up.

The film, which also stars Anushka Sharma, is Bollywood’s big release this Diwali. Unsurprisingly, there’s a feverish buzz surrounding it. JTHJ’s trailer was released on the Internet at 1 pm and had, by evening, become a trending topic on Twitter. Most tweets were positive.

The trailer starts off with a shot of SRK in army fatigues riding a bike in Ladakh. Vignettes of picturesque locales from London to Ladakh then give us the feel of a typical Yash Chopra movie. In the background, Shah Rukh recites lines from a poem written by Aditya Chopra. While Katrina looks sensuous, Anushka’s role seems to be on the spunkier side.

Though JTHJ has been pegged as an unconventional love story, shot in London, Mumbai, Ladakh and Kashmir, Chopra took care not to miss out on his signature touch— the quintessential love song shot on the Swiss Alps.

“Yash ji hadn’t originally planned to have such a number this time but his unit reportedly insisted,” an industry source said.

Shah Rukh will shortly arrive in Switzerland to shoot the song, with Katrina following soon after from Chicago, where she is currently filming Dhoom 3.
